Working on finishing the paint job and diorama for this USMC M1A1. I’ve started aging the turret and tracks using some soft foam and acrylic paints. I found mixing Tamiya flat base (x21) into the paints really sold the foan painting. The bottom picture is my inspiration for the paint job, weathering, and scenery. But I have some plans to add more drama to this relatively boring diorama. More pictures soon.

Here is my process for making Miniature Plastic Shopping bags. Let me know if anything is unclear. In the immortal words of Kel Mitchel, “Ahh…here goes!”

You’ll need:

- Hobby-knife or Scissors

- Plastic grocery bag

- Miniature Bag template (DL here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v689/hendi150/Untitled-1.jpg)

- Pen

- Clear scotch tape

imageFirst, I cut open a shopping bag, took a photo of it laid out flat, and made this template. Its about 1:6th scale.

image

Cut out one of the templates and trace it with a pen onto a piece of plastic grocery bag. Cut it out carefully.

image

Fold the cut out plastic in half and tape it with the scotch tape according to the picture.

There you are! Fairly simple but cool none the less.

Fill it with some stuff and you can even tie it off.

Looks great next to my 1:6th Super Gulp :)
